Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy ("Policy") describes how skcreation, the developer of the memory-training game "Memory Blink" (Japanese title: シカクキオク) ("Developer", "we", or "us"), collects, uses, and shares information through the following two versions of the game (together, the "Service"). By using the Service, you agree to the practices described in this Policy.
- App version: the app distributed on the App Store and Google Play (the "App").
- Browser version: the website https://memory.skcreation.app, including the game you can play in your browser, articles, and the short quizzes inside articles (the "Website").
This Policy is the English translation of the original Japanese version. In the event of any inconsistency between the Japanese and English versions, the Japanese version shall prevail.
Neither version asks you for your name, email address, phone number, or similar information, and neither has accounts or sign-in. The main differences between the two versions are summarized below. The App version is covered in Section 1 and the browser version in Section 2.
| App version | Browser version | |
|---|---|---|
| Where game records are stored | On your device (the App's local storage) | In your browser (localStorage) |
| Ads | Google AdMob | Google AdSense (planned) |
| Analytics | Firebase Analytics / Crashlytics | Google Analytics 4 |
| Paid plan | Yes (removes ads) | None |
| Notifications | Local notifications | None |
| Delivery | App Store / Google Play | Cloudflare |
1. Information Collected in the App Version
1.1 Information Stored on Your Device
- Game records (clear times, per-level progress and completion status, consecutive-day play streaks, and other activity records).
- App settings and preferences (such as notification on/off).
This information is stored only on your device (in the App's local storage) and is not transmitted to our servers or to any third party. If you delete the App, this information is removed from your device.
1.2 Information Collected in Connection with Advertising
The App is provided free of charge and displays ads using Google AdMob, provided by Google LLC ("Google"), to support its operation. To deliver, display, and measure ads and to prevent fraud, Google and parties involved in ad delivery may collect and use the following information in connection with your use of the App:
- Advertising identifiers (such as the Android Advertising ID [AAID] and the iOS Identifier for Advertisers [IDFA]).
- IP address and coarse location (country/region level) inferred from the IP address.
- Device information (device model, OS version, language and region settings, screen size).
- Information about ad interactions, such as impressions and clicks.
The handling of this information is governed by the privacy policies of Google and the other providers involved. For information about how Google uses this data, please see the Google Privacy Policy and How Google uses information from sites or apps that use its services.
1.3 Consent Management (UMP)
The App uses Google's User Messaging Platform (UMP). In regions where the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) or similar laws apply, a consent form is presented before ads are requested. Depending on your consent, you will be shown either personalized or non-personalized ads.
1.4 App Tracking Transparency on iOS (ATT)
On iOS, using the advertising identifier (IDFA) for personalized ads may require permission under Apple's App Tracking Transparency (ATT) framework. The App may request such permission where necessary. If you do not grant permission, you will be shown non-personalized ads.
1.5 Notifications
The App may use local notifications (notifications scheduled on your device) to encourage continued use. These notifications are generated and managed entirely on your device; the App does not use a push-notification server or device token and does not transmit any information externally in connection with notifications. You can turn off notifications from your device settings or from within the App.
1.6 Information Collected for Analytics and Crash Reporting
The App uses Firebase Analytics and Firebase Crashlytics, provided by Google, to understand usage and to detect and fix problems and improve quality. Through these services, the following information is sent to Google: an anonymous app instance identifier assigned per app installation, device information (device model, OS version, language and region settings), usage events such as screen views and interactions within the App, and crash information when the App crashes (such as the location of the crash, stack traces, and device state at that time). This information does not include data that directly identifies you, such as your name. For information about how Google uses this data, please see the Google Privacy Policy.
2. Information Collected in the Browser Version
2.1 Information Stored in Your Browser
- Game records (per-level progress and completion status, best times, the days you played, and other activity records).
- Game settings (such as sound effects on/off).
This information is stored only in your browser's storage (localStorage) and is never sent to our servers. If you clear your browser's site data, this information is deleted. Records in the browser version and the App version are separate and do not sync.
We do not save the results of the quizzes inside articles. When you start or finish a quiz, we send an event to the analytics service described in Section 2.2, including the number of cards used and the time taken in seconds. These events are not linked to information that identifies you.
2.2 Analytics (Google Analytics 4)
The Website uses Google Analytics 4 (gtag.js), provided by Google, to understand how the Website is used and to improve it. Google Analytics uses cookies (such as _ga) and similar technologies, and sends the following information to Google:
- A random identifier stored in a cookie (assigned per browser).
- The URL and title of pages you view, the referring page or site, and the time of your visit.
- Browser and device information (browser type, OS, screen size, language settings).
- Approximate location (country, region, or city) inferred from your IP address. According to Google, Google Analytics 4 does not log or store IP addresses.
- Events about how you interact with the Website, including starting and finishing a quiz in an article (with the number of cards and seconds described above).
This information does not include data that directly identifies you, such as your name. For information about how Google uses this data, please see the Google Privacy Policy and How Google uses information from sites or apps that use its services. Section 9.2 explains how to opt out of Google Analytics.
2.3 Advertising (Google AdSense)
To support its operation, the Website plans to display ads through Google AdSense, provided by Google. When ads are shown, cookies are used as follows:
- Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to the Website or other websites.
- Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visits to the Website and/or other sites on the Internet.
- To deliver, display, and measure ads and to prevent fraud, cookie identifiers, IP address, browser and device information, and ad interaction data (such as impressions and clicks) may be sent to Google and other parties involved in ad delivery.
You can opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings (https://adssettings.google.com). You can also opt out of third-party vendors' use of cookies for personalized advertising by visiting www.aboutads.info (or www.youronlinechoices.eu if you are in the EEA). For more on how Google uses advertising cookies, see How Google uses information from sites or apps that use its services and How Google uses cookies in advertising.
2.4 Cookie Consent
The Website uses Google Consent Mode (v2). For visitors from the European Economic Area (EEA), the United Kingdom, and Switzerland, analytics and advertising storage is set to "denied" by default, so these cookies are not stored until you give consent. In this state, information about page views may still be sent to Google without cookies. Once ads are shown, we will ask for consent in these regions through a Google-certified consent management platform (CMP). You can change or withdraw your consent at any time through the CMP's consent settings (once available) or by deleting your cookies.
2.5 Delivery and Security (Cloudflare)
The Website is delivered using services provided by Cloudflare, Inc. ("Cloudflare"). When you visit the Website, Cloudflare processes access logs that include your IP address, browser type (user agent), the URL you requested, and the time of the request. This information is used to deliver the Website and to protect it from abuse and attacks. Cloudflare may also set cookies that are strictly necessary for security. For details, please see Cloudflare's Privacy Policy.
2.6 What the Browser Version Does Not Collect
The browser version has no accounts, sign-in, payments, or notifications, so it does not collect purchase information or any information used for notifications.

6.2 Service Providers and International Transfers
To operate the Service, we transmit certain information to the following service providers. These providers may be located outside Japan, including in the United States, and information may be transferred to and stored in those countries. The browser-version entries also serve as our public notice of external transmission under Article 27-12 of Japan's Telecommunications Business Act.

7. Paid Plan (Subscription; App Version Only)
The App offers a paid plan (an auto-renewable monthly subscription) that removes ads. When you purchase, restore, or start a trial, payment is processed by Apple (App Store) or Google (Google Play). We also use the subscription management service provided by RevenueCat, Inc. to manage purchase status, and information such as transaction ID, product ID, subscription status, and an anonymous app-generated user identifier is processed through Apple/Google and RevenueCat. We use this information to verify and maintain your entitlement. We do not collect credit card numbers or other payment instrument details directly. The browser version has no payments, and the paid plan does not remove ads from the browser version.
8. Retention
- Information stored on your device (Section 1.1) is retained on your device until you delete it or uninstall the App.
- Information stored in your browser (Section 2.1) is retained in your browser until you clear its site data. Your browser's settings or behavior may also clear it automatically.

- You can stop Google Analytics from collecting data by installing the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.
- You can opt out of personalized ads through Google Ads Settings or www.aboutads.info (see Section 2.3).
- If you visit from the EEA, the UK, or Switzerland, you can change or withdraw your consent (see Section 2.4).
9.3 Both Versions
Where applicable law (including the EU/UK GDPR and the CCPA/CPRA) grants you rights such as access, deletion, or opt-out, you may exercise them by contacting us at the address in Section 12. We do not "sell" personal information as that term is defined under the CCPA/CPRA. If personalized ads are shown on the Website, the use of advertising cookies may be considered "sharing" for cross-context behavioral advertising under the CCPA/CPRA; you can opt out using the choices in Section 9.2. We may ask for additional information to verify your identity.
10. Children's Privacy
The Service is not primarily directed to children under 13 (or the equivalent age under applicable local law). We do not knowingly collect personal information from such children. If we become aware that we have collected information from a child under 13 without verifiable parental consent, we will promptly delete it. Parents or guardians who believe their child may have provided information through the Service may contact us using the information in Section 12.
11. Security
We take reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect information against loss, misuse, unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, and destruction. Communication between the App and external services, and between your browser and the Website, is encrypted in transit.
