Privacy Policy

Last updated: October 7, 2026 / Effective: October 7, 2026

This Privacy Policy ("Policy") applies to the French Conversation mobile application (the "App") and describes how the App's developer ("Developer", "we", or "us") collects, uses, and shares information in connection with your use of the App. By using the App, you agree to the practices described in this Policy.

This Policy is the English translation of the original Japanese version of our Privacy Policy. In the event of any inconsistency between the Japanese and English versions, the Japanese version shall prevail.

1. Information We Collect

We collect the categories of information described below. We do not engage in "tracking" as defined by Apple's App Tracking Transparency framework, we do not collect the Identifier for Advertisers (IDFA), and no App Tracking Transparency consent prompt is shown. The App does not display advertising.

1.1 Information Stored Only on Your Device

The App does not require account registration or sign-in. This information is stored only on your device and is never sent to any server operated by us or to any third party; we cannot view it. Deleting the App deletes this information.

1.2 Device Features

The App uses the speech synthesis built into iOS to play French aloud. The text read aloud is the App's own study material, and the App does not send any information to us or to third parties in order to play it. The App does not request access to your microphone, speech recognition, camera, location, contacts, or photos.

1.3 Notifications (Study Reminders)

With your permission, the App may show a reminder at the first 9:00 p.m. that comes at least 24 hours after you last used the App. This is a local notification scheduled on your device, and no information leaves your device for notifications. You can turn reminders off at any time from the App's menu or in your device's Settings.

1.4 Usage Analytics (Firebase Analytics)

To improve the App and to understand how purchases are made, the App uses Firebase Analytics (Google Analytics for Firebase), provided by Google LLC, which collects:

This information does not include your name, email address, or other directly identifying information, nor the profile answers described in Section 1.1. It is not used for advertising or to track you across other companies' apps or websites.

1.5 Purchase Information

The App offers a one-time purchase that unlocks Content beyond the free sections. When you make or restore a purchase, we receive App Store transaction information from Apple (such as product ID and purchase date) and use it to verify and restore your purchase. This purchase information, together with an anonymous user ID that the App generates for your device, is sent to and processed and stored on the servers of RevenueCat, Inc. (United States), which provides purchase management. Payment is processed by Apple; neither the App nor the Developer receives your credit card number or other payment details.

1.6 Information You Provide When Contacting Us

If you contact us by email or through our Google Form support channel, we receive the email address, name, and message content you choose to provide. We use this information solely to respond to your inquiry.
